While I love Peckham and it's arty vibe I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want the sights and a relaxed walk around central london. Peckham is fine. Also I know it isn't popular on this forum, but it may also be worth exploring options with Air BnB for these areas.Knowing the area, it's not really somewhere I would think of for staying on a holiday I haven't been back there for years though.-:- Message from Tripadvisor staff -:-Yes absolutely. It' depends on your age and what you are after in a holiday, if you are into tourist attractions then maybe Peckham isn't ideal and you could find somewhere more central in zone 1, if you just want to explore a city then the zone 2 hotels are fine and cheap. Peckham is a rough-and-ready area of inner suburban London, although parts of it are gentrifying, and it is well off the usual tourist trails.I there any reason you specifically want to stay at that hotel? I would look elsewhere personally esp if you're travelling with a baby (who's presumably less than 9 yrs old! ?What is your budget per night in GB Pounds please?

‘Peckham Rye Lane’ by Amy Blakemore is a portrait of a street in London and the chaos, absurdity and peace which are there in equal measure. It is 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-east of Charing Cross. Peckham is a district of south London, England, within the London Borough of Southwark. (If it's coming in cheap, there's usually a reason for that).

(If it's coming in cheap, there's usually a reason for that). As others have said - public transport is the preferred option in London. The hotel itself looks OK but it's inconvenient (afaics), and in quite a gritty area.

It is an especially hot day and everyone is sweating. We might be able to suggest something more convenientLook at Travelodges and Premier Inns that are more central if you're on a budget.Blimey, I bet he/she is a weight to carry around. Yeah Peckham (where my cousin is from and I've been to on many occasions) wouldn't be my choice of a vacation spot at all, unless you are visiting people you know there and that's the reason. It’s made up of 113 acres of recreational grassland, ornamental gardens, a serene lake, bowling green and, a stylish park cafe - The Round. It used to be a hostel and they're trying to upgrade it, but it's not working and the area is bleak and boring.Tell us your budget as well as your arrival and departure points please." we have a 9yr-old baby."???? It's an urban residentail area, but not somewhere you would choose to stay if visiting Central London at all.

Really nice restaurants and bars, lots of students out at night. ).I wouldn't stay there, it's in an awkward place to travel and the reviews are pretty bad.

It doesn’t feel like central London.

I live in Peckham and it's absolutely fine, yes it used to be rough but now it's a gentrified, hipster haven with tonnes of cafes, breweries and arty rooftop bars.Totally agree with Geekinesis, they are right on the money.

I lived down the road for a while. :-)

The poem begins with the speaker stating that she is on a bus riding down “Peckham Rye Lane” in London. The Round, a pavilion-style cafe formerly known as The Rye Cafe underwent refurbishment this summer. The Colicci team transformed the place into a more spacious … At the 2001 Census the Peckham ward had a population of 14,720. Peckham has a really ‘villagey’ feel, especially the area around … Peckham boasts one of the prettiest South East London parks - The Peckham Rye.
Peckham is a rough-and-ready area of inner suburban London, although parts of it are gentrifying, and it is well off the usual tourist trails.I there any reason you specifically want to stay at that hotel? Only stay here if you are younger and into the whole rooftop bar/cinema/arts/ thing.
Its so central and it will only get nicer as all the rich people start moving in. (If it's coming in cheap, there's usually a reason for that).
