I’m still a college student (but junior year is slipping away way too fast), and for a long time intended to be a conservation biologist upon graduating. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive. My current profession is not exactly right where I want to be. I am most drawn to literary voices in commercial packages. I was teaching in Korea, contracted a severe case of pneumonia and tuberculosis, lost my job because I was on quarantine, and started writing because working online was the only way I could make money while stuck in bed.Awesome interview and I’m so excited to read TAKEN!My job isn’t my chosen profession. As a New York based agent, I’m eager to build my MG, YA, and Adult lists. My profession I fell into by choice. Good luck!Ooh, that cocktail sounds scrumptious! Sounds right up my alley.
Like REALLY want to write. And thank you for the kind words re: TAKEN. 33m.
I can hardly wait for it to come out!! Such a dream agent! It just took me a long time to start seeking it. When I find a great book I get very invested.
Crewel was absolutely one of my favorite reads of 2012!
Cannot WAIT for Taken! Is it odd that I am not entirely sure if I fell into my profession or sought it out? Sarah Davies. Fingers crossed for you.I work in book publishing, which is a profession I sought after and LOVE. Quite the switch, though, haha.
author. His voice pulled me in from the first page.
I became interested in that and got a job as an assistant and worked my way up! Now, almost four years later, I’m in school again to finish my degree but am still staying home too. While lurking around as a closet writer, Life’s twists and turns led me to be part of a caretaker couple at a private ranch in the mountains of Montana.
Hope to be part of the Crowe’s Nest too. ;DAt the moment, I’d like a nice fantasy. Hahahah such a good fiscal choice BUT I DON”T CARE I get to study history. I wish you all the best.My ideal literary cocktail is a mix of romance, gorgeous prose, and characters you root for.My clients still come to me to find traditional publishers, and that is still mainly what I do. I have much less time to read my requested manuscripts than I used to!
Since seventh grade I’ve wanted to be an author, so I am making that happen, too.I hope it all goes exactly like that. For now anyway! Personally, I would love to see an @SHO_Homeland or @TheAmericansFX thriller hit my inbox... especially if there's a romance or a YA hook. And as you know I often use your query letter as a great example of a hook, and this story has an amazing hook that does not disappoint.
<3And I’m very excited for TAKEN and love reading these stories where two great things collide to make something even more wonderful.
I want this ARC now!!! What a way to discover a new job. Instead, I’ve added an English double major to my now useless Biology major and have hopes to go into publishing, maybe as agent I started out as a lawyer and when I got pregnant, turned into a full time stay at home mommy which completely took me by surprise- but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. And yes, Sara. On top of that I had a complicated pregnancy and was placed on bed rest for what felt like a billion years. She was always communicative and kind in our correspondence back when I was still querying. Best of luck with TAKEN! I fall in love. To my great surprise, I enjoy it a lot, and may even keep the job after I move out of this town.I sought out both my current jobs, a stay at home mother and a writer.
This book is on my TBR pile and has been for quite a while. I’m also repped by Sara Crowe so it was great fun reading her interview. I love her and appreciate her A LOT.Thanks for the great interview and this fantastic giveaway… I’m crossing my fingers!my cocktail would have to be….
I didn’t get the actual post, but was taken on as relief. It is so strong. 1/4 laughs and witty dialogue, 1/4 sweet and steamy romance 1/2 flavorful characters, mixed with a twist of tension and dash of adventure.Good luck with the job hunt! The story becomes a treasured member of my family (and library).
My Manuscript Wish List Favorite . Great interview!I Went to high school for a proffesion in tourism which was by accident, but now I’m studying to be a Croatian teacher which is a dream come trueThe best thing about writing is it can always be squeezed in the the hours between jobs.
1/4 human nature study 1/4 unique and lyrical prose 1/2 characters whose voices and choices dig deep and ring true Good luck with your writing, Alex. How amazing (and wonderful) for you! I’ve been excited the first time I read the pitch. I am very much looking forward to reading your book, Erin! I get to listen to audiobooks all day long.
