I sort the packages by last name, this doesn't really take much extra time since I scan look at last name place it in its alphabetical spot and repeat. E-O in the middle seat sorted from right to left. Making sorting easier. We aim to ensure that the number of packages you are assigned to deliver within your block is realistic, taking into account congestion and the primary requirement to drive safely.

The order they're scanned doesn't matter, with one exception. Scan the larger numbers first and put them in your trunk first. P-Z in the way back sorted right to left. Only had 23 packages but only 2 times i had on the same street.
