Glad the rest of the bike seemed okay to get someone into the sport – but lets be realistic with the ‘upgrades’ for this line of budget.Given the specs for the frame, you would not be throwing money away if you upgrade as you go. Great bike! When I took it back to my local Walmart, the only option given to me was returning the entire bike since apparently no one could be bothered to check and see if there was an extra spare Schwinn parts box in the back or coordinate to have the manufacturer mail one to me. Great platform to upgrade as you go and wear out parts. But beyond making men's and women's road, mountain, hybrid bikes and bicycles for kids, we make memories. The presence of a kickstand is not ideal for a mountain bike but easy to remove and resolve. overall i feel like you need to throw some good money in it if you want a trail ready bike out of it. If someone only had $500, I’d say buy this bike and spend the rest on some accessories.
