This new team of experts, among them Lippo Digital group chief executive Adrian Suherman as president director of OVO, Grab's Jason Thompson as chief executive and Agustinus Risang Danurjati as director of human resources, will bring in a wide range of skill sets. With such dynamic competition in the Indonesian fintech landscape today, it is likely that we’ll see more of Ovo in many local and international news outlets in the future. During the ongoing Money20/20 event in Singapore, the company’s chief executive officer Jason Thompson attributed Ovo’s success to, among others, the modern organised retailers. “We serve 98 per cent of adult population in Indonesia,” said Thompson, who joined Ovo late June after heading GrabPay.“With our partnership with (online-to-offline startup) Kudo, which has 1.9 million agents covering Indonesia, we can rapidly recruit these merchants,” he added.
